Job summary

Precision Technologies seeks a BI and Analytics Developer to design Cube Dev semantic models using YAML-based cube definitions and to build dimensions, facts, measures, and pre-aggregation logic. You will design Power BI reports, measures, and manage security with RLS while optimizing semantic layer performance.

Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements, integrate with Snowflake/Databricks, and implement governance standards. Strong Git/CI/CD experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in BI and Analytics development.
• 4+ years of hands-on Power BI development experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Cube Dev semantic models using YAML configurations and define cubes with dimensions, facts, measures, joins, and pre-aggregation logic.
• Create and maintain Cube Views and access policies, implement security controls including RLS, CLS, and role-based access management.
• Develop solutions leveraging DAX, MDX, SQL, and GraphQL APIs for analytics consumption and optimize semantic layer performance through caching and pre-aggregation.
• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, scorecards, complex DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPIs; manage Power BI Service workspaces and deployment pipelines; troubleshoot reports, gateways, and datasets.
• Work with Snowflake, SQL Server, Databricks, Dataiku, or similar platforms; design star and snowflake schemas; develop ETL/ELT processes; ensure data quality and governance.

Job description

Build dimensions, facts, measures, joins, and pre-aggregation logic.

Create and maintain Cube Views and access policies.

Develop solutions leveraging DAX, MDX, SQL, and GraphQL APIs for analytics

Optimize semantic layer performance through caching and pre-aggregation strategies.

Power BI Development

Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and scorecards.

Create and optimize complex DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPIs.

Develop reusable semantic models and datasets.

Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and performance optimization techniques.

Manage Power BI Service workspaces, deployment pipelines, and scheduled refreshes.

Troubleshoot report, gateway, and dataset issues.

Data Integration & Modeling

Work with Snowflake, SQL Server, Databricks, Dataiku, or similar platforms.

Design star and snowflake schemas for reporting solutions.

Develop ETL/ELT processes using SQL, Power Query, or cloud-native tools.

Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance standards.

Stakeholder Collaboration

Gather and analyze business requirements.

Translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Provide production support and root cause analysis.

Participate in code reviews and best-practice initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related

field.

5 to 10 years of experience in BI and Analytics development.

4+ years of hands-on Power BI development experience.

• Cube Dev semantic modeling and YAML configuration.
• Experience with GraphQL, MDX, or enterprise semantic layer technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.

Microsoft Power BI certifications (PL-300 preferred).

Experience supporting finance, risk, regulatory, or enterprise reporting solutions.
