Job summary

Fathom Talent Group is helping a Canadian healthcare SaaS startup hire a Staff Software Engineer at founding level. Remote anywhere in Canada with a Toronto-based team, you will own complex problems end to end, lead integrations across EMRs and pharmacy systems, and shape the platform architecture as the product scales.

You’ll write specs, work without a dedicated QA in a regulated PHI/SOC 2 environment, and position yourself for technical leadership or CTO trajectory in a small, high-impact

Qualifications

• Strong systems thinking and design judgment for complex healthcare platforms.
• Ability to translate product requirements into scalable architecture and data models.
• Experience with API design and integration-heavy systems.
• Comfort working in a regulated environment with PHI and SOC 2 considerations.
• Ability to lead and influence technical decisions in a startup setting.

Responsibilities

• Own complex problems end to end—from discovery to architecture and delivery.
• Lead integrations with EMRs, pharmacy systems and retail partners as the platform scales.
• Shape the product by turning ideas into sound architectural plans (UI, APIs, data model).
• Collaborate on AI-driven workflows; write specs and review AI-generated code.
• Grow into technical leadership or CTO trajectory in a small, fast-moving team.
