Job summary

Richardson International in Yorkton, SK is seeking a Crush Processing Operator to operate and monitor the crush plant and related equipment, ensuring quality specifications are met and housekeeping standards are maintained. The role requires a Grade 12 or equivalent, good communication, and a willingness to work a rotating shift schedule including weekends and overtime.

Exposure to grain processing is an asset.

Qualifications

• Must have Grade 12 or equivalent with excellent written, verbal communication skills.
• Must have a good work performance and attendance record and be willing to work rotating shift schedule, weekends and overtime.
• Experience in a Manufacturing Plant environment or experience operating grain cleaners would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor processing equipment, including lubrication and maintenance requirements.
• Coordinate daily operational tasks and activities with other departments.
• Perform housekeeping duties in the crush/seed cleaning area.
• Participate in process optimization initiatives.
• Understand and comply with health and safety requirements, company policies and procedures and general workplace rules.
• Participate in the day-to-day health and safety program by working in a safe manner and using required PPE.
• Ensuring that authorized work is completed safely.
• Utilize controls to prevent risk of exposure to hazards.
• Participate in incident investigations, training and other health and safety initiatives.
• Report all unsafe acts and conditions and all incidents, near misses and injuries as per procedure.
• Other duties as assigned.

Crush/Seed Cleaning Operators are responsible for segregating and cleaning all canola according to quality specifications, and operating the crush plant including all ancillary equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor processing equipment, including lubrication and maintenance requirements

• Ensuring that authorized work is completed safely
• Utilizing required controls to prevent risk of exposure to hazards
• Participating actively in incident investigations, training, and other health and safety initiatives
• Reporting all unsafe acts and conditions and all incidents, near misses and workplace injuries/illnesses as per company procedure
• Other duties as assigned
