Job summary

Sunnybrook is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Critical Care Nursing Resource Team. The RN will support level II and III ICUs, providing assessment, intervention, education and patient advocacy for critically ill patients.

Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, you will work with the health care team, patients and families, maintaining patient-centered care in line with Sunnybrook standards and professional guidelines. BCLS required; ACLS preferred; CNCC(C) an asset.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Current BCLS certificate required; ACLS certificate preferred.
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred.
• CNCC(C) an asset
• Critical Care Certificate essential in lieu of related critical care experience
• Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional development within the past 2 years with emphasis placed on courses/conferences related to critical care.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment; able to manage multiple demands and changing priorities.
• Demonstrated effective ability in: interpersonal relationships; oral and written communication skills; organizational skills; priority setting skills; problem solving; decision making; facilitating teamwork; conflict resolution
• Ability to integrate and apply critical thinking skills to patient care
• Ability to handle stressful environment in a positive manner
• Ability to function independently and as a part of the multidisciplinary team
• Flexibility with unit assignments
