Job summary

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto is seeking a registered nurse for primary care of level 3 and level 2 patients in the B5 ICU. The role emphasizes assessment, intervention, education and patient advocacy within a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate will hold CNO registration in Ontario, a current BCLS certificate, and at least two years of critical care experience, including trauma/neuro exposure in the past two years.

Qualifications

• Current CNO registration in Ontario.
• Current BCLS Certificate.
• Nursing degree (BSN) preferred.
• Minimum 2 years Critical Care experience in a Level II/III unit.
• Trauma/Neuro experience within the past 2 years.
• Ability to function well in a Critical Care setting.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families and co-workers.
• Excellent assessment skills.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member.
• Demonstrated knowledge of patient-centred care principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary care for level 3 and level 2 patients in the B5 ICU.
• Conduct assessments, implement interventions, educate patients and advocate for care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure timely, high-quality care.

The RN supports the Philosophy of Patient-Focused Care concept and principles and the Mission and Values of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. The RN works closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
