Qualifications

• RN must be registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• BCLS certification required
• Bachelor-level nursing degree preferred
• Minimum three years of Level 2/3 critical care experience
• Completion of a recognized Critical Care Course
• Demonstrated commitment to continuing education in the past two years with focus on critical care
• Participation in Patient-Focused Care Course and nursing councils/quality projects
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, prioritization and problem-solving skills
• Ability to apply critical thinking and work under stress
• Ability to function independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

• Provide primary care for Level III critical care patients in a patient-focused environment
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to support patients and families
• Adhere to College of Nurses standards and Sunnybrook Nursing Practice standards
