Position Overview

As a Crew Leader, you will lead a team to various job sites throughout the week, ensuring the work is completed correctly, on time, and safely. You will serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and mentoring to team members, helping them develop their arboriculture skills. Additionally, you will be the primary contact for clients, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.

Job Duties

• Safely and efficiently lead a crew in providing arboricultural care for clients.
• Direct crew members and equipment, planning and executing assigned tasks.
• Supervise and assist in maintenance, preparation, and operation of tools and equipment, including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Perform tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully.
• Specific tasks include:
  • Pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood from trees.
  • Installing cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
  • Removing hazardous trees.
• Provide expert tree trimming services and inspections.
• Manage customer service expectations.
• Follow Davey and industry safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Arborist.
• ISA certification or enrollment in an arboriculture program, or equivalent.
• Valid provincial driver’s license; licensed to drive a 5-ton vehicle; air brake endorsement is an asset.
• Ability to safely ascend and direct team members in tree canopy work.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Strong skills in tree, knot, and shrub identification.
