Position Overview

As a Crew Leader, you will lead a team to various job sites throughout the week, ensuring the work is completed safely, on time, and to a high standard. You will serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and mentorship to team members, especially those newer to the arboriculture profession. Additionally, you will be the main point of contact for clients, striving to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Job Duties

• Safely and efficiently lead a crew in providing arboricultural care for clients.
• Direct crew members and equipment, plan, and execute assigned tasks.
• Supervise and assist in the maintenance, preparation, and operation of tools and equipment, including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Perform tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully.
• Specific tasks include:
  • Pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood from trees.
  • Installing cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
  • Removing hazardous trees.
• Provide expert tree trimming services and inspections for client properties.
• Manage customer service expectations effectively.
• Follow Davey and industry safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience as an Arborist.
• ISA certification or enrollment in an arboriculture program, or equivalent.
• Valid provincial driver’s license, with the ability to drive a 5-ton vehicle; air brake endorsement is an asset.
• Ability to safely ascend and work in tree canopies at various heights.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Strong skills in tree, knot, and shrub identification.
