Position Overview

As a Crew Leader, you will lead a team to various job sites throughout the week, ensuring the job is done right, on time, and safely. You will provide guidance and mentorship to team members, helping them develop their arboriculture skills. You will also serve as the main contact for clients to ensure an exceptional customer experience.

Job Duties

1. Safely and efficiently lead a crew in providing arboricultural care for clients.
2. Direct crew members and equipment, and plan and execute assigned tasks.
3. Supervise and assist in maintaining, preparing, and operating tools and equipment, including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
4. Perform tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully.
5. Specific tasks include:
1. Pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood in tree canopies.
2. Installing cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
3. Removing hazardous trees.
6. Provide expert tree trimming and inspection services to clients.
7. Manage customer service expectations.
8. Follow safety policies and procedures of Davey and the industry.

Qualifications

1. Minimum 2 years of experience as an Arborist.
2. ISA certification or enrollment in an arboriculture program, or equivalent.
3. Valid provincial driver’s license; license to drive a 5-ton vehicle; air brake endorsement is an asset.
4. Ability to safely ascend tree canopies at various heights and direct a team during this process.
5. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
6. Strong skills in tree, knot, and shrub identification.
