Job Description

Our Fortune 100 financial services client is seeking a Project Manager of Credit Risk within the Consumer Credit Cards division. Reporting to the Director of Retail Payments, this role will play a critical role in driving growth and success in the consumer credit card business. The successful candidate will assess impact and value to prioritize credit risk initiatives based on acquisition and underwriting policies, parameters, and strategies, to deliver resilient business growth and profitability.

The Details

  • Location : Downtown Toronto, ON (3 days per week onsite required)
  • Duration : Approximately a 12-month consulting project with the possibility of extension

What You’ll Do

  • Prioritize, plan, and drive credit risk initiatives in the consumer credit card business.
  • Work with stakeholders including product, risk, technology, marketing, operations, and compliance to successfully execute projects, including escalation and issue resolution.
  • Support development and implementation of initiatives around underwriting strategy, pricing segmentation, and credit line assignment / increases.
  • Develop credit strategies tailored to acquisition channels and card types. Collaborate with business segment product owners to optimize acquisition targeting and marketing campaigns.
  • Establish governance and control frameworks for business and initiative implementation.
  • Provide progress reports and analytics on key metrics for status monitoring and data-driven decisions.
  • Identify opportunities and lead initiatives to enable profitable growth while minimizing credit risk exposure, adapting to economic and regulatory changes.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in credit risk policy & analysis or management in consumer cards.
  • Minimum of 3 years project management experience.
  • Experience working for large banking or financial services firms, especially in debit or credit card sectors.
  • Proven project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Leadership, collaboration, and initiative-taking skills in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
