Qualifications

About You:

Reporting to the Senior Director, Risk Modelling & Data Science, you will be responsible for ensuring the ongoing accuracy and integrity of credit reporting data provided to credit bureaus, analyzing credit reports for trends and discrepancies, and researching, resolving credit disputes. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing changes in reporting requirements and teaming up with the technology team on enhancements and changes as necessary. This role requires strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as a thorough understanding of credit reporting regulations and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that credit data submitted to credit bureaus (such as TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian) is accurate and compliant with regulations.This includes pre-transmission file reviews to catch potential errors before the data is sent
  • Analyze credit reports to identify trends, patterns, and potential discrepancies
  • Identify and implement improvements to processes related to credit bureau reporting and dispute resolution.
  • Investigate the reasons behind discrepancies or issues in credit reporting data.
  • Resolve credit disputes, both direct and indirect.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant regulations, such as the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and Metro 2 guidelines
  • Assist in managing audits to identify discrepancies and facilitate corrective actions, as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience / certifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in credit bureau reporting
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically
  • Working knowledge of eOSCAR
  • SQL knowledge and/or experience using Data Visualization tools (Tableau/ Domo) is an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize competing demands
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to FCRA Rules, CDIA/CRRG Guidelines and Metro 2 format
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and other computer software applications
