Job summary

Tangerine, Canada's leading digital bank, is hiring a Credit Recovery Specialist on a 6-month term in Toronto. You will manage delinquency ratios across deposits, loans, and credit cards and drive recovery while following credit policies.

You will contact clients, negotiate payment promises, review credit bureau data, and support the call centre with complex cases. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of work experience in banking or the account recovery industry.
• Post-secondary diploma or degree.
• Strong knowledge of banking products and collection systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage deposit, loan, and credit card delinquency ratios based on annual targets.
• Resolve daily returned payments by contacting clients and obtaining a payment promise.
• Contact clients to minimize losses and maximize recovery of past-due accounts.
• Respond to and action internal and external emails concerning delinquent accounts.
• Assist the call centre with escalated problem resolution.
• Address customer complaints in a professional and timely manner.
• Issue first and final delinquency notices daily.
• Review and update credit bureau information as required.
• Review, accept, and process bankruptcies, consumer proposals, and credit counselling proposals.
• Review accounts and identify actions prior to agency placement and write-off.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce delinquencies.
