Job description

The Credit Risk Management team within Wealth Management is currently seeking a Credit Manager. The mission of this sector is to protect the firm's capital and minimize business credit risk related to client transactions, volatility, and concentration, while ensuring compliance with credit policies and transaction settlement rules, and managing prevailing market conditions.

As the Manager of the Credit team, you will manage resources to mitigate risks to Wealth Management lines of business (NBF, NBIN, NBDB, WM1859) caused by delinquent accounts and market movements.

Your role:

  1. Manage a team to ensure effective credit control of delinquent accounts and monitor client accounts.
  2. Develop, manage, and coach team members to meet departmental objectives.
  3. Supervise and train employees.
  4. Oversee sellouts and account violations.
  5. Coordinate monthly capital requirements for regulatory reporting and support audits.
  6. Provide reports to senior management on credit and risk issues.
  7. Communicate with business lines to resolve client account issues.
  8. Implement operational strategies and tools to improve efficiency and reduce risks.
  9. Approve funds out and exception requests for significant amounts after client portfolio analysis.
  10. Participate in business line committees.

Prerequisites:

  • Bachelor's degree related to the sector and one year of relevant experience, or a university certificate with three years of experience.
  • Completed courses: CSC, CPH, DFOL.
  • Mastery of CIRO series 5000 rules.
  • Knowledge of derivatives strategies, especially options.
  • Excellent understanding of financial products.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Access.
  • Ability to work under pressure and strong negotiation skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Desired skill:

  • Basic knowledge of portfolio management.

Languages:

Proficiency in relevant languages is required for collaboration outside Quebec.
