Qualifications

The Credit Risk Management team within Wealth Management is currently seeking a Credit Manager. The mission of this sector is to protect the firm's capital and minimize the business credit risk related to client transactions, volatility and concentration while ensuring compliance with our credit policy, rules relating to transaction settlements and managing any prevailing market conditions.

As the Manager of the Credit team, you will be responsible to manage the resources of the area to mitigate the risks to some of the Wealth Management lines of business (NBF, NBIN, NBDB and WM1859) due to delinquent accounts and market movements.

Your role:

  • Manage a team of professionals to ensure effective credit control of delinquent accounts throughout the monitoring process of our client accounts.
  • Develop/manage/coach resources to accomplish departmental objectives.
  • Supervise and train employees.
  • Oversee sellouts and account violations.
  • Review and co-ordinate monthly capital requirements for Regulatory reporting. This includes providing support for all financial, internal and Regulatory audits.
  • Provide reporting to senior management as well as any other information/reporting that enhances communication of credit or risk related issues for information or to be used when taking a decision.
  • Communicate with different business lines to resolve client account situations as they occur.
  • Implement new operational strategies and tools to maximize the efficiency of the sector and to reduce financial risk
  • Approve funds out and /or exception requests for significant amounts following the analysis of the client's portfolio.
  • Participate in different business line committees

Prerequisites:

  • Bachelor's degree related to the sector of activity and one year of relevant experience OR University Certificate 1st cycle and three years of relevant experience
  • Have completed the following courses: Canadian Securities Course (CSC), Conduct & Practices Handbook Course (CPH) and Derivatives Fundamentals and Options Licensing Course (DFOL)
  • Master the CIRO series 5000 rules
  • Familiar with the strategies and risk related to derivatives strategies, more specifically options
  • Excellent knowledge of financial products
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel and Access
  • Able to work under pressure and negotiation skills
  • Be able to offer excellent customer service

Desired skill:

  • Have a basic knowledge of portfolio management
