The Department of General Education invites applications for contract lecturer positions in Cluster Two, Values Beliefs and Identity, starting September 2025. Successful candidates will teach foundation-level courses: GNED 1201 – Aesthetic Experience and Ideas; and GNED 1202 – Texts and Ideas.
The department delivers the General Education component across all Mount Royal’s baccalaureate degrees, organized into four thematic clusters. Courses in Cluster Two aim to explore human values, beliefs, and ideas through arts, music, literature, philosophy, and critical thinking, offering broad historical and cultural perspectives. Mount Royal, established in 1910, offers a vibrant educational environment with small classes, personalized faculty interactions, and a strong focus on undergraduate teaching and learning. Known for its collegial atmosphere, the university values innovation and community engagement.
Applicants should hold a minimum of a Master’s Degree in a relevant field within Arts or Humanities; a Ph.D. is preferred. Teaching experience at the undergraduate level and/or professional experience is required. Qualified Indigenous candidates are encouraged to apply.
