The Department of General Education invites applications for contract lecturer positions in Cluster Two, Values Beliefs and Identity, starting September 2025. Successful candidates will teach foundation-level courses: GNED 1201 – Aesthetic Experience and Ideas; and GNED 1202 – Texts and Ideas.
The department delivers the General Education component across Mount Royal’s baccalaureate degrees, organized into four thematic clusters. Courses in Cluster Two aim to enable students to critically explore values, beliefs, and ideas shaping human experience, through art, music, literature, philosophy, and critical thinking, offering broad historical and cultural perspectives.
Applicants should have a minimum of a Master’s Degree in a relevant field (preferably within Arts or Humanities), with a Ph.D. preferred, along with undergraduate teaching and/or professional experience. Qualified Indigenous candidates are encouraged to apply.
