Job summary

Guillevin in Burnaby, BC is seeking a Credit Analyst to evaluate credit requests and manage a portfolio of clients. You will perform financial analysis, assess risk, and provide timely recommendations for credit approvals and collections.

The role requires strong Excel and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Regular full-time on-site position in Burnaby.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position dealing with high volume B2B collections.
  • Degree in finance, accounting and administration, or other relevant education is preferred.
  • Experience reading/analyzing Equifax, Dun & Bradstreet reports for risk assessment/credit granting.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Make collection calls and follow up regularly to ensure prompt payment.
  • Perform regular financial reviews to assess risk.
  • Process credit card payments and apply in accounting system.
  • Process and approve new credit applications.
  • Set up new accounts in the system.
  • Temporarily suspend credit privileges as needed.
  • Complete comprehensive credit inquiries.
  • Assist with cash application when required.
  • Liaise with Business Centre Managers on receivables and disputes.
  • Develop and maintain teamwork internally and externally.
  • Other duties as assigned by Credit Manager.

Credit Analyst

Reporting to the Credit Manager, the Credit Analyst is responsible for a portfolio of clients. The analyst evaluates credit requests of new and existing clients through research and analysis of financial documents, and shares its recommendations in a timely fashion.

Main Responsibilities
  • Make collection calls and follow up regularly to ensure prompt payment received by customers;
  • Perform regular financial reviews to assess risk;
  • Process credit card payments and apply in accounting system;
  • Process and approve new credit applications;
  • Setting up new accounts in system;
  • Temporarily suspend credit privileges as necessary;
  • Complete comprehensive credit inquiries;
  • Assist with cash application when required;
  • Liaise with Business Centre Managers to update on receivables and ensure disputes get addressed in a timely manner;
  • Develop and maintain teamwork both internally and externally;
  • Other duties as assigned by Credit Manager.

  • Credit experience in the construction industry is an asset;
  • Must have exemplary multi-tasking and time management skills.
