Job summary

Sonepar Canada, Inc. based in Brampton, is seeking a Credit & Collections Specialist to ensure timely payments, manage AR and credit reports, and maintain healthy customer relations.

You will perform credit file reviews for large accounts, monitor credit limits, and handle invoice inquiries and holds, while supporting cross-functional teams to minimize risk and drive cash flow.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years’ relevant credit and collection experience in a similar industry.
• Experience with large key accounts and credit portfolio monitoring and management.
• Post-secondary degree or CCP designation an asset.
• Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to implement solutions.
• Motivated and results oriented.
• Professional presence with excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
• Organizational skill sets with attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

• Ensuring collection calls meet monthly targets.
• Reviewing and releasing orders from credit hold.
• Logging all collections calls on the customer accounts as well as in the Heat program
• Issuing of CSD's and follow up when requested
• Processing the opening of new accounts / credit checks
• Reviewing and updating customer files, when required.
• Monitoring credit limits and past due balances and ensuring customer pays within terms.
• Processing Special statements.
• Conducting an investigation on short payments.
• Appropriately following up on customer issues and inquires.

Based in our Brampton location, and reporting to the Credit Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring that the overall timing of payments are made in accordance with their projected time frame, developing/generating and maintaining the A/R and Credit and Collection reports, reconciling accounts, minimizing company risk and meeting and/or exceeding A/R performance targets while maintaining healthy and profitable customer relationships.
