Creative Production Manager

Department: Marketing

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: Vancouver

Compensation: CA$93,000 - CA$104,000 / year

Description

Hi there, we’re Article. Since 2013, we have been redefining the furniture industry one sofa at a time, it’s not easy — it requires solving challenging, meaningful problems. This is where you come in, as a Creative Production Manager, you'll act as the air traffic controller for our creative engine, turning ambitious ideas into seamless, on-time, show-stopping visual assets across our photography, 3D/CGI, and design worlds.

Why We Need You:

As our catalog continues to grow, Creative Production Management is expanding its scope from supporting one creative team to servicing all four multidisciplinary teams across Article’s Creative function. We need a champion of operational flow who can bring grounded day-to-day stability to our asset intake, capacity tracking, and cross-functional sequencing. This fits into our larger need to scale high-velocity eCommerce production smoothly, eliminate bottlenecks, and ensure every product launch lands on time and within budget so our customers get a remarkably seamless shopping experience.

In your first couple months, you’ll focus on business-as-usual production coordination, getting to know our teams, workflows, and day-to-day priorities. As you settle in, you’ll roll up your sleeves to help stabilize our intake pipelines, build trusted relationships across our creative leads, and bring greater structure and visibility to our production data in Google Sheets. Over time, you’ll become a meaningful contributor to improving our operational blueprints, streamlining workflows, and identifying opportunities for automation to help Creative Production scale alongside our growing portfolio.

About the team:

We are a team of 5 reporting into our Manager, Virtual Production. You won't be managing direct reports—you’ll be our go-to project management and operational systems wizard working alongside fellow production contributors. Your "customers" are both internal and cross-functional partners: you’ll collaborate daily with internal clients across Marketing, Sales, Product Development (TPD & Sourcing), Category Management, and PMO, while supporting the creative makers inside Photography, CGI, Graphic Design, Product Copy, and Creative Direction.

We are a hybrid team - you'll be in the office 3 days per week at our Vancouver HQ.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be an individual contributor and key systems partner on a team of 5, helping manage complex production sequencing, input coordination, scheduling trade-offs, and asset workflow logistics.

  • Keep the Air Traffic Moving: Coordinate end-to-end creative production and day-to-day traffic across Photography, CGI, Graphic Design, and Copywriting so our marketing and go-to-market engines never miss a beat.
  • Support Your Internal Clients: Act as the primary touchpoint for internal clients across Marketing, Sales, and Product teams, clarifying briefs, aligning on deliverables, and providing transparent project visibility.
  • Build Workback Schedules: Craft realistic timelines, production calendars, and dependency maps that balance campaign ambitions against real-world team capacity.
  • Coordinate CGI & Shoot Logistics: Partner with product development and sourcing teams to orchestrate physical samples, material scanning, and vendor handoffs for smooth digital asset and studio production.
  • Wrangle Production Data: Build and maintain clear, reliable Google Sheets models and project management workflows in Wrike to track capacity, volume, and throughput without needing dedicated ops support.
  • Support Budget Tracking: Assist with day-to-day production spend tracking, review and reconcile vendor invoices and purchase orders against approved budgets, and help flag potential cost variances early.
  • Bridge Cross-Functional Teams: Act as the operational glue between Creative, PMO, Marketing, and Sourcing, keeping internal partners aligned and updated on realistic delivery timelines.
  • Spot Bottlenecks Early: Proactively flag blockers, scope creeps, and resource crunches, finding collaborative solutions rather than just passing messages.
  • Level Up Our Blueprints: Continuously evaluate production workflows to create repeatable templates, streamlined handoffs, and smart automations that make life easier for our creative teams.
Who You Are
  • 3+ years of experience in creative production, project management, traffic coordination, or creative operations (fast-paced eCommerce experience is a major bonus!).
  • Multidisciplinary Creative Fluency: Solid understanding of what goes into Photography, CGI/3D, Graphic Design, Copywriting, and Video production.
  • Spreadsheet Wizard: Highly proficient in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel with hands-on comfort building models from scratch to track timelines, capacity, or budget variances.
  • Operator First, Builder Second: Thrilled to jump into the tactical trenches and stabilize day-to-day workflows today, with the strategic curiosity to automate and scale systems tomorrow.
  • Proactive Problem-Solver: You don't just log delays—you actively dig into dependencies, challenge assumptions with empathy, and recommend clear paths forward.
  • System-Savvy: Experienced with modern project management tools like Wrike, Asana, Creative Force, Airtable, or similar systems.
  • Clear Communicator: Exceptional interpersonal and organization skills, capable of bridging the gap between artistic creatives and analytical business stakeholders.
  • Legally able to work in Canada.
  • Completion of criminal background check.
