Job summary

Canad Inns is seeking a Cook 2 to act as a culinary artist, preparing dishes across outlets and banquets with cost awareness and presentation in mind.

The role involves salad and dessert production, assisting chefs with menu engineering, and ensuring guests receive visually appealing dishes. Strong teamwork and high-quality standards are essential for success in a fast-paced hotel kitchen.

Qualifications

• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Criminal Background Check and Food Handler & WHMIS certificates required.
• Experience in short orders.
• Formal or informal training and/or education.
• Clean, with good hygiene habits.
• Communicates effectively.

• Organized, accurate and reliable.
• Works well with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist Kitchen Stewards, Buffet Attendant/Prep Cook, and Food Services Receiver as needed.
• Keep the work area clean and organized throughout the shift.
• Communicate pertinent information to culinary staff.
• Distribute menus to proper personnel.
• Garnish dishes to enhance visual appeal.
• Inspect plates for appearance and correctness before serving.
• Prepare plates according to Canad Inns standards and guest desires.
• Wrap, label and date all food.
