Job summary

Lever, Inc. is seeking a Hoisting Engineer – Mobile Crane Operator to inspect, operate and rig cranes on job sites across Hamilton, Ontario.

You will follow lift plans, maintain logs, and ensure safety procedures are strictly followed while coordinating with site supervisors. The ideal candidate holds either Hoisting Engineer – Mobile Crane Operator 2 or 1 certification, 3+ years of crane experience, and a valid DZ license.

Qualifications

  • Hoisting Engineer - Mobile Crane Operator 2 certification for 16,000-30,000 lbs or Mobile Crane Operator 1 verification.
  • Prefer 3+ years of mobile crane experience.
  • DZ License with clean Driver's Abstract.
  • Experience handling roofing materials and sheet metal is an asset.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Team player with a safety-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-operational crane inspections.
  • Maintain daily pre-planned schedule of job site lifts and deliveries.
  • Operate boom truck crane on job sites following lift plan and safety protocols.
  • Perform rigging procedures as required.
  • Collaborate with Supervisor and operations team to manage schedules and internal service level.
  • Deliver and pickup finished goods and metal products.
  • Load and deliver material and equipment to and from sites.
  • Observe load hookup and determine load safety.
  • Use critical lift plan checklist and sign off on completion.
  • Maintain crane logs and safety paperwork, including required inspections.
  • Complete inspections and maintain ELD Logs.
  • Perform end of day driver check-ins for paperwork completion.
  • Clean and maintain crane and hoisting mechanism.
  • Inspect crane for defects and notify supervisor.

A Day in the Life
  • Perform pre-operational crane inspections.
  • Maintaining daily pre-planned schedule of job site lifts and deliveries.
  • Proficiently and safely operate boom truck crane on job sites following lift plan, safety protocols and any site-specific requirements.
  • Perform rigging procedures as required.
  • Management of schedule in collaboration with Supervisor and operations team, maintaining a high standard of internal customer service.
  • Delivery and pick-up of finished goods and metal products.
  • Load and deliver material and equipment to and from sites.
  • Observes load hookup and determines safety of load.
  • Uses critical lift plan checklist and signs off on completion.
  • Responsible for completing crane logs and maintenance documents including required safety paperwork.
  • Complete inspections and maintain ELD Logs.
  • Perform end of day driver check-ins to ensure complete and accurate paperwork completion.
  • Cleans and maintains crane and hoisting mechanism.
  • Inspects crane for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions.
What You’ll Bring
  • Hoisting Engineer - Mobile Crane Operator 2 certification. (16,000-30,000 lbs) OR Hoisting Engineer – Mobile Crane Operator 1 verification.
  • Prefer – 3+ years of mobile crane experience.
  • DZ License with clean Driver's Abstract.
  • Experience with handling roofing materials and sheet metal an asset.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Team player with a proactive, safety-oriented mind set.
Important Note:

All applicable candidates are required to hold either the Hoisting Engineer – Mobile Crane Operator 2 certification or Hoisting Engineer - Mobile Crane Operator 1 certification.

$37 - $44 an hour

Wage is determined on skill & experience levels.
