Crafternoon is a fun and family-friendly program that provides the opportunity to learn new art techniques and projects inspired by the Gallery’s current exhibitions. On the last Saturday of each month, we organize a self-directed drop-in art activity in our Creativity Centre. These activities usually relate to the exhibitions, exploring techniques and themes used by our featured artists. Programs may be run by the Gallery’s Programming Team or by a featured guest artist. This program is free with admission. All supplies are provided.
Crafternoon is held at the Southern Alberta Art Gallery (601 3rd Ave S) in Lethbridge, AB. Volunteers are welcome to attend one or multiple sessions.
Volunteer responsibilities include assisting with set up, participating in the craft activity, assisting the program leader and participants throughout the afternoon, and assisting with clean up.
15 years old or above
We are looking for 1-2 volunteers per session to assist with the programs. The program runs 1pm-4pm with a volunteer call time of 12:30PM.

Youth Art Club is a free, drop-in program where middle and high school-aged youth can explore their artistic side. Attendees can bring their own art to work on or participate in a project led by the Gallery’s Outreach Coordinator. Supplies and snacks are provided.

Join us at the Southern Alberta Art Gallery on Thursday, May 15th from 5pm to 7pm to celebrate the young artists of our annual Art’s Alive & Well in the Schools student art exhibition.
Join us at the Southern Alberta Art Gallery on Saturday, May 10th from 7pm to 9pm to celebrate the opening of our annual Art’s Alive & Well in the Schools student art exhibition, along with a special student art mentorship showcase organized by Michelle Sylvestre and our new Shop at SAAG feature artist L.C. Cariou. Enjoy the artworks and refreshments, mingle with the community and meet the artists. The opening reception is free for all.
