Qualifications

  • Five years teaching or industry experience.

  • TLS training available for remote teaching.

Responsibilities

  • Teach FDSC 315 Separation Techniques in Food Analysis.
  • Grade final exams as part of the contract.
  • Be available during scheduled final exam days.
  • Attend and supervise lectures and labs as scheduled.

Job Details

Department of Food Science and Agricultural Chemistry, Course FDSC 315 Separation Techniques in Food Analysis, Winter 2027 Term (January 5-April 30, 2027).

Schedule and Location

Lecture – Raymond R4-047 Friday 8:35 a.m.-11:25 a.m. and Lab – Macdonald-Stewart MSB-031 Wednesday 10:05 a.m.-12:55 p.m.

Note: The McGill exam sessions take place over two weeks after the end of classes, and Course Lecturers are expected to be available on the day of a scheduled final exam and are required to grade final exams as part of their contract.

Teaching Qualification Requirements
  • Education: Doctoral degree in Food Chemistry, Food Science or Food Microbiology.
  • Experience: Familiarity with the course/have taught the course previously, five years of teaching or industry experience.
  • Other qualification requirements: The course is taught in-person Virtual learning platforms (e.g., Zoom, WebEx) and the McGill MyCourses learning management system.
  • Training and assistance on remote teaching is available through Teaching and Learning Services (TLS).
  • For general expectations, please refer to Articles 12.01 and 12.03 of the MCLIU Collective Agreement.
