Job summary

McGill University invites applications for a short-term lecturer to teach FMTP 012 Machinery Maintenance during Winter 2027. The appointment runs January 5 to April 30, 2027, with the exam period April 22–30.

Teaching duties include Friday lectures 13:30–14:30 and Monday laboratories 11:30–14:30 at AE-8 and CC1-162. A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field plus relevant teaching experience is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years recent and appropriate professional or agricultural experience.
• Prior teaching experience at the college level with equipment management courses.
• Evidence of effective teaching; related professional practice will be considered.
• Lecturer who has taught the course twice previously meets the TQRs.

Responsibilities

• Teach FMTP 012 Machinery Maintenance during Winter 2027.
• Deliver lectures Fridays 13:30–14:30 and laboratories Mondays 11:30–14:30.
• Coordinate the exam period April 22–30, 2027.

Teaching Qualification Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years recent and appropriate professional or agricultural experience.
• Experience: Prior teaching experience at the college level, with this or similar equipment management courses with evidence of effective teaching. Relevant non-teaching experience (presentations, workshops, field days, professional consultation, etc) or professional practice will also be considered.
• Other: A lecturer who has taught the course twice previously, is considered to meet the TQR’s.
