Provides counselling, therapy, & related services to adults, youth, children, couples, families, & groups seeking assistance with personal/interpersonal problems. Additionally, provide group therapy sessions & engage in community collaborations. The position reports to the Director of Programs.
Provide counselling, therapy & related services. Includes conducting initial assessments to determine needs & goals.
Develop individualized serviced plans.
Facilitate groups & develop programs.
Attend relevant agency meetings, be knowledgeable about agency programs/community activities.
Perform related administrative & record keeping duties.
Participate in clinical supervision.
Assist with supervision of peers, students & individual cases.
Perform work outside of regular operating hours.
Perform work at various locations in & around Saskatoon, Martensville, & Warman.
Other duties as assigned.
Completed degree in Social Work (BSW, BISW)
3-5 years of supervised clinical experience in a related/relevant counselling area
Eligible for registration with & maintain good standing in a relevant professional association
Theories/Practices of:
interviewing, assessment, & evaluation techniques
single session solution focused approach
human development, behavior & change
communication & conflict resolution
trauma- & violence-informed approaches
Assess high risk clients (suicidal) & intervene quickly/appropriately.
Recognize signs/symptoms of other mental health disorders & refer client to appropriate services.
Awareness of & cultural sensitivity to the customs, traditions, spiritual beliefs & philosophy & perspective on family dynamics of Indigenous, immigrant, refugee, & newcomer populations.
Experience in facilitating group work; knowledge of group dynamics.
Experience working with people experiencing difficult, unusual, &/or challenging situations.
Valid driver's license & access to personal vehicle
