Job summary

JammersApparel in Montreal, Canada, is seeking a Costing Specialist to develop and maintain accurate product costings for imported apparel. You will partner with sourcing, logistics, merchandising, and overseas vendors to ensure competitive pricing, margins, and cost transparency.

Reporting to VP Product Development & Sourcing, you will prepare cost sheets, analyze quotations, track cost changes, and support pricing decisions while ensuring compliance and process improvements across PLM, ERP,

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost sheets for apparel styles, including fabric, trims, labor, overhead, freight, duty, and landed cost
• Analyze vendor quotations and negotiate cost components to achieve margin targets
• Track and validate cost changes related to materials, labor, currency, freight, and tariffs
• Maintain historical costing data and benchmarks by category and vendor
• Communicate directly with overseas factories and agents to request and clarify cost breakdowns
• Support vendor negotiations and cost engineering initiatives
• Review MOQs, lead times, and production efficiencies
• Collaborate with merchandising and sales teams to ensure target margins are met
• Assist in setting wholesale prices based on cost, markup, and market considerations
• Provide scenario analysis for cost fluctuations and pricing strategies
• Incorporate freight, duty, tariffs, and brokerage costs into landed cost calculations
• Partner with logistics teams to validate shipping methods and cost assumptions
• Ensure costing aligns with compliance, labeling, and import requirements
• Prepare regular costing and margin reports for management
• Identify cost-saving opportunities across sourcing, production, and logistics
• Support system updates and costing process improvements (PLM, ERP, Excel models)
