Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Cost Consultant to join our Ottawa team. With 4–7 years of post-graduate experience in cost planning, estimating, and cost management, you will contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects across multiple sectors.

You will develop and manage cost estimates through all project phases, prepare detailed cost plans and benchmarking analyses, and support risk, change, and budget control. A degree in engineering or quantity surveying is required.

Competenze

• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying.
• 4–7 years of cost estimating, cost planning, or quantity surveying.
• Experience across all project phases from concept design through construction.
• Familiarity with CostX or similar estimating software.
• CIQS, RICS, or AACE membership is an asset.

Job Description:

• Develop and managecost estimatesfor public sector projects from concept design through procurement, construction, and project closeout.
• Prepare detailed cost plans, estimates, and benchmarking analyses to support project decision-making and budget validation.
• Analyze tender submissions and procurement outcomes to ensure competitiveness, compliance, and value for money.
• Participate in value engineering and cost optimization exercises, identifying cost-effective solutions while maintaining project.
• Support project teams in managing cost risks, change management, forecasting, and budget control to ensure client objectives are achieved.
• Contribute to client presentations, cost reports, and stakeholder meetings.

Qualifications

• Degree inEngineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• 4-7 years of experiencein cost estimating, cost planning, or quantity surveying.
• Experience preparing estimates across all project phases, from conceptual design through construction.
• Membership or progress toward membership with relevant professional organizations such asCIQS, RICS, AACE, or equivalent is considered an asset.
• Proficiency with cost estimating software such asCostXor similar estimating platforms.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

The base salary for the full-time Cost Consultant role is CAD $80,000 - $100,000.Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
