Summary :
This role reports directly to the Corporate Controller of the business and is responsible for providing cost reduction reporting, cost control and financial planning. This position is on site 5 days, not remote.
Major responsibilities include :
- Prepare, analyze, and report periodically gross margin analysis by item codes and by customer type.
- Analyze inventory valuation and inventory roll forward.
- Conduct costing / pricing analysis for new products / projects.
- Coordinate with IT, accounting, and production departments to ensure all work orders are closed, receiving and shipping are completed at month-end.
- Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count / physical inventories.
- Maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls.
- Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost, inventory, and liability accounts by customer type and division.
- Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research, and perform analytical studies regarding cost analyses and profitability.
- Ensure timely submission, accuracy, and validity of inventory and gross margin schedules to management.
- Any other costing / pricing related functions that may arise.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Cost Accountant or similar role for at least 3 years.
- Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles & Cost Accounting Standards.
- Ability to research, compile, analyze, and interpret data.
- Good written, verbal communication, and collaborative skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to analyze and reconcile complex accounts and reserves.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- Knowledge of ERP systems.
- Food manufacturing background preferred.
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
