We are seeking talent in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, for the full-time, permanent position of Cost Accountant .

Responsibilities

• Perform financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close procedures, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Prepare annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Conduct costing analyses and provide guidance to Mill Management.
• Compile grade cost analysis and margin reports for Mill Management.
• Assist with special projects or assignments as needed.
• Understand journal entries, accounting flows, and operational processes.
• Identify potential risks in accounts and resolve reconciling items promptly.
• Document accounting processes and flows in detail.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and internal controls.
• Provide ad hoc analysis as required.
• Support procurement operations for the Calhoun facility.

Ideal Profile

• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of Cost Accounting experience.
• Experience in audits and financial analysis.
• Preferably experience in a manufacturing setting.
• SAP experience is desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
• High ethical standards and safety awareness.
