- Support budgeting and forecasting cycles with cost-based inputs and financial modeling to enhance accuracy and efficiency
- Prepare accurate cash flow forecasts and manage liquidity planning to ensure financial stability and optimal resource allocation
- Handle bank reconciliations and process transactions as needed, maintaining precise financial records and ensuring operational efficiency
Costing & Cost Accounting- Ensure cost accuracy by maintaining and updating standard costs for all products, raw materials, freight, duty, and labor
- Drive financial insights by analyzing and reconciling actual vs. standard costs, identifying key variance drivers to support cost optimization
- Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to refine cost structures and recommend efficiency improvements that enhance profitability
- Build and refine cost models to support product pricing, quoting, and profitability analysis, ensuring competitive and sustainable pricing strategies
- Strengthen inventory valuation through overhead allocation and monthly cost roll-ups, keeping financial reporting precise and reliable
- Track and report on cost trends, cost absorption, and margin performance to provide actionable insights for business growth
Compliance & Audit- Ensure compliance and timely filing of HST and multi-jurisdictional state/provincial taxes, keeping financial operations aligned with regulatory requirements
- Support audit processes by preparing detailed schedules and documentation, assisting both internal teams and external auditors with financial accuracy
- Maintain precise financial records while upholding strong internal controls for cost accounting and financial reporting, ensuring integrity and transparency in financial data
Qualifications:- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation (or in progress) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in cost accounting, ideally within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis to support accurate financial reporting and decision-making.
