The Corporate Tax Analyst will work closely with the Director, Taxation to assist with financial reporting, Canadian and U.S. tax compliance, and to provide analysis in support of corporate strategies. This position reports to the Director, Taxation and will be located in our Vancouver office.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Director, Taxation in the preparation of workpapers to support the Canadian and U.S. statutory tax compliance process.
- Assist with the tax provision process to determine the tax expenses and tax attributes at each quarter-end and year-end.
- Assist in the periodic testing of SAP intercompany invoice model and support other corporate transfer pricing endeavours.
- Participate in transaction-driven discussions and assist the Manager, Taxation with any follow-up tax analyses.
- Correspond with tax service providers to manage timeline while gathering information through various contacts at our subsidiaries.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 1 years of experience in a role with substantial U.S. Tax exposure; Canadian Tax experience is considered an asset.
- Professional certification such as Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical and time-management skills.
- Have advanced level computer skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Have impeccable eye for detail and accuracy and be highly organised.
- Be a self-starter and enjoy working on teams with a high level of self-discipline and initiative.
- Be a proactive learner with keen interest in expanding U.S. tax, Canadian tax, and transfer pricing knowledge.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills reflecting the ability to collaborate with not only a diverse set of colleagues across the organisation, but also with external service providers.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment while meeting both internal reporting and statutory deadlines.
- Experience working with Google WorkSpace is an asset.
Salary & Benefits
- The salary for this position is $85,000 – $110,000 annually. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
