Job summary

Suncor Energy in Calgary is seeking a Security Technical Lead to design, implement and sustain integrated security systems across our operations. You will provide technical leadership, partner with engineering, IT and vendors, and guide risk-based security planning to protect people, assets and information.

Qualifications

• 10+ years designing, implementing, and operating integrated security systems.
• Experience with facility security design and physical/integrated security tech.
• Experience with Lenel OnGuard, Milestone XProtect, Commend, Traka Web.
• Demonstrated project management across concurrent projects.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• Security certifications (PSP/CPP) or related post-secondary credential considered an asset; AutoCAD experience.

Minimum Requirements

• 10 or more years of experience designing, implementing and operating integrated security systems

• Experience with facility security design, physical security infrastructure or integrated security technology solutions

• Experience with security platforms such as Lenel OnGuard, Milestone XProtect, Commend and Traka Web

• Demonstrated project management experience, including the ability to manage multiple priorities across concurrent projects

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

• A valid driver’s licence

• Security industry certification such as Physical Security Professional (PSP) or Certified Protection Professional (CPP), technical certification in engineering, project management or construction management, AutoCAD experience, or a related post-secondary credential would be considered an asset

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test and sustain integrated security technologies that support business units across Suncor operations

• Lead risk-based facility security planning, site vulnerability assessments and technical recommendations to help mitigate security risks

• Partner with project managers, engineers, Digital and Information Technology teams, vendors and contractors to deliver scalable and secure technical solutions

• Troubleshoot complex system failures and act as a key technical resource for security infrastructure, system architecture and project execution

• Develop and maintain technical plans, drawings, standards, documentation and implementation guidance to support consistent, high-quality delivery

Location and other Key Details

• This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.

• Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs

• You will be required to travel, sometimes at short notice, to Suncor operations within Canada, the U.S. or globally

• You may be required to be available outside regular office hours to troubleshoot system failures, respond to emergency or security incidents, or support project schedules

• This position is security sensitive which requires you to clear a criminal history check
