The Legal team at GWL is looking to add a Corporate Law Clerk to its high-energy team. Working with and reporting to the Director, Corporate Governance, the Corporate Law Clerk will organize Board and Committee meetings, support annual shareholder meetings, and help prepare materials for the meetings. He / she will also attend to securities filings, support the maintenance of corporate records, assist with corporate transactions, and prepare continuous disclosure documents. The Corporate Law Clerk will work closely with stakeholders, including senior executives and the board of directors. This position will be based out of the GWL office at Yonge and St. Clair Avenue, with a minimum of three days per week in the office.
The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, executives, and board members. Experience as a law clerk, corporate secretarial, or corporate governance with a major law firm or financial institution will be considered an asset. You must be highly organized, attentive to detail, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and a good team player with a positive attitude.
