Qualifications

  • 2–4 years in investment banking, corporate development, transaction advisory, equity research, or a similar analytical role.
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, transaction analysis, scenario modeling, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Exposure to oilfield services, energy, industrial services, or CFA/CPA/MBA is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain high-quality financial models, forecasts, scenario analyses, and valuation work for corporate development and transactions.
  • Evaluate acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, partnerships, and other strategic opportunities.
  • Support execution of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships, including due diligence and documentation.
  • Lead KPI benchmarking and performance tracking, analyzing revenue, margin, profitability, and other drivers.
  • Prepare investor presentations and board materials to an executive-ready standard.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and external advisors to validate assumptions and advance deliverables.
  • Maintain organized files, source data, and supporting schedules for traceability.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Corporate Development Analyst supports Calfrac Well Services' corporate development, strategic finance, investor relations, and growth initiatives through high-quality financial analysis, modeling, presentation development, benchmarking, and deal support. Reporting to the Director, Corporate Development, this role is responsible for evaluating strategic opportunities, preparing decision-ready analysis, supporting term sheet and transaction materials, and maintaining accurate performance tracking to assist senior leadership in assessing partnerships, joint ventures, investments, and other corporate opportunities.

The position requires strong investment analysis capability, advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, sound business judgment, and exceptional attention to detail. The Analyst will work closely with Corporate Finance, operational leaders, and external advisors to support disciplined decision-making and clearly communicate Calfrac's performance, strategy, and value proposition.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and maintain high-quality financial models, forecasts, scenario analyses, and valuation work to support corporate development, strategic finance, capital allocation, and transaction-related decisions.
  • Evaluate acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, partnerships, and other strategic opportunities by assessing economics, risks, market dynamics, operational fit, and potential value creation.
  • Support execution of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships, including due diligence coordination, valuation analysis, financial modeling, management presentations, and transaction documentation.
  • Lead KPI benchmarking and performance tracking, including analysis of revenue, margin, profitability, utilization, pricing, cost, peer performance, and other key business drivers.
  • Prepare and refine investor presentations, board materials, corporate development presentations, and senior leadership materials to an executive-ready standard.
  • Support investor relations and market intelligence activities by analyzing peer, industry, and market data and translating insights into clear messaging and presentation materials.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, operational leaders, external advisors, and potential partners to validate assumptions, advance deliverables, and support timely execution of corporate development priorities.
  • Manage assigned work independently with strong prioritization, accuracy, ownership, and attention to detail from initial analysis through final deliverable.
  • Maintain organized files, source data, supporting schedules, models, and transaction documentation to ensure analyses are supportable, traceable, and decision ready.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance preferred; Accounting, Economics, Business, Commerce, Engineering or a related discipline will also be considered.
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate development, transaction advisory, equity research, management consulting, private equity, corporate finance, FP&A, or a similar analytical role.
  • Investment banking experience with a financial institution is preferred.
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, transaction analysis, scenario modeling, Excel, and PowerPoint skills required.
  • Exposure to oilfield services, energy, industrial services, capital-intensive businesses, or pursuit of a CFA, CPA, CBV, MBA, or related designation is considered an asset.
