Job summary

Verrus, a Canadian-listed mining developer, is seeking a Corporate Controller to join its Toronto-based finance team. Reporting to the CFO, the Corporate Controller will take ownership of financial reporting, accounting, audit and internal controls, while gaining broader exposure across the finance function.

You will manage monthly, quarterly and annual closes, prepare IFRS-consolidated statements, support MD&A and public-company reporting, and mentor a lean team.

Qualifications

• Strong IFRS and financial reporting experience.
• Knowledge of Canadian public-company requirements.
• Experience managing close and external audit processes.
• Strong internal-controls knowledge.
• Comfortable working within a lean, hands-on finance team.
• Mining industry experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual close processes
• Prepare consolidated IFRS financial statements
• Support MD&A and public-company reporting
• Coordinate quarterly reviews and the annual audit
• Maintain internal controls, accounting policies and procedures
• Support budgeting, forecasting and management reporting
• Assist with treasury, tax and corporate activities
• Research technical accounting matters
• Improve financial systems and reporting processes
• Support the CFO with strategic and ad hoc projects
