About the Team

This role is based on the Creative Content Team, which is part of the larger Content Design Team at Affrim. We’re the heart of Affrim’s communications, UX experiences, and products shaping how we engage with our users across both web and the Affrim app. You’ll join a lively group of 10+ Content Designers who work independently and collaboratively to create clear, user-friendly, and effective product experiences. As part of the overall Product organization at Affrim, we ensure that every user interaction is meaningful and aligned with Affrim’s broader goals, seamlessly integrating messaging into product touchpoints.

We’re looking for a mid-level Copywriter to join our team, playing an essential role in shaping and delivering clear, impactful messaging across our product and marketing communications—specifically email, push notifications, and web. What You’ll Do

• Write and refine content across product touchpoints, including email, in-app messaging, and web, ensuring a consistent voice and tone.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Product Marketing, Design, and Legal & Compliance to ensure that product messaging aligns with both user needs and business objectives.
• Develop and maintain messaging frameworks, content templates, and writing standards to create scalable, consistent content that serves multiple product and marketing functions.
• Drive content strategies for campaigns, from ideation through A/B testing, ensuring that messaging enhances the overall user experience and helps drive key business goals.
• Contribute to the evolution of Affrim’s voice and tone, refining how we communicate with both consumers and merchants across digital touchpoints.
• Support content optimization by analyzing performance metrics and iterating on content based on testing insights, user feedback, and performance reviews.
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure that all content complies with regulatory standards and internal guidelines.
• Work closely with the Product Design team to ensure that messaging is integrated into product design and user experiences seamlessly.
• Champion a content-first approach to design, advocating for the inclusion of content in product decisions to elevate user experiences and engagement.

What We Look For

• 2+ years of experience in copywriting and/or content design, ideally within a product or tech-focused environment.
• Hands-on experience writing for email, web, and in-product messaging, with a solid understanding of best practices for each medium.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners, including designers, product managers, and engineers, to create user-centric solutions.
• Familiarity with UX writing principles and best practices, ensuring content enhances usability and user experience.
• A self-starter mentality, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and adapting to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail with a strong commitment to clarity, scalability, and consistency across all written content.
• Experience with legal and compliance review processes, ensuring that all content meets necessary regulatory standards.
• A passion for content innovation, bringing fresh ideas and new approaches to how we communicate with users.

Pay and Benefits

Base Pay Grade - G

Equity Grade - 3

Employees new to Affrim typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affrim focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.

Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents). In addition, the employees may be eligible for equity rewards offered by Affrim Holdings, Inc. (parent company).

CAN base pay range per year: $80,000 - $100,000
