The Faculty of Law is one of the oldest professional faculties at the University of Toronto, renowned globally. The Faculty is located in the Jackman Law Building on the St. George Campus, downtown Toronto.

Your opportunity:
Law in Action Within Schools (LAWS) is an award-winning program supporting high school students facing barriers to postsecondary education. Established in 2005, LAWS introduces students to legal thinking and the justice system through workshops, mentorship, and employment opportunities. It is a partnership between the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and Osgoode Hall Law School at York University, delivered at select Toronto District School Board high schools.

Under the general direction of the LAWS Program Director, the incumbent will support program activities and provide administrative assistance.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Fostering cooperative relationships with internal and external contacts
  • Serving as the first point of contact for general inquiries
  • Drafting routine documents and correspondence
  • Updating and maintaining database records
  • Generating reports
  • Developing content for marketing and promotional materials
  • Managing logistics for events and programs

Essential Qualifications:

  • Advanced college diploma (3 years) or equivalent education and experience
  • At least three years of related administrative experience, preferably in education or community outreach
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience creating content for marketing and outreach materials
  • Experience coordinating logistics for events or programs
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and community partners
  • Financial management skills, including expense recording, invoicing, and accounts receivable processing
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Commitment to postsecondary access, community outreach, and equity, diversity, and inclusion
