Job summary

Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP is seeking a Coordinator to support the Director and Manager of Student Programs and Legal Recruitment. You will handle day-to-day operations, data management, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery across employment relations, recruitment, development, events, and projects.

The role requires post-secondary HR-related education and 1+ years of coordination experience in professional services, with CHRP/CHRL an asset.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or related discipline.
  • At least one year of related coordination experience in a professional services environment (preferably a law firm).
  • CHRP/CHRL designation is an asset.
  • Equivalent education/training/experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Execute student program operations: track deliverables, identify issues, and support department objectives.
  • Manage end-to-end employment relation processes for students: onboarding, licensing, performance, secondments, life events, and policy adherence.
  • Administer student rotation planning and coordination.
  • Support student recruitment activities and maintain accurate firm and candidate information.
  • Maintain up-to-date templates, precedents, protocols, and checklists.
  • Assist with new projects and other duties as required.

The Coordinator supports both the Director and Manager of Student Programs and Legal Recruitment in all operations of the Student Program by executing day-to-day activities, maintaining program data and materials and ensuring timely, high‑quality delivery across employment relations, recruiting, development, events, and projects.

Major Responsibilities
  • Execute student program operations, including key program activities, tracking deliverables, identifying operational issues, and contributing recommendations that support department and Firm objectives
  • Complete end to end employment relation processes as they arise for students, including onboarding/offboarding, licensing procedures, performance management, secondments, life events, and the application of the Firm’s policies, while escalating complex matters
  • Administrate student rotation planning
  • Support the student recruitment process, including assisting with recruitment activities, process requirements, maintaining accurate firm and candidate information, and contributing to initiatives that support the Firm’s student talent objectives
  • Maintain up-to-date templates, precedents, protocols, and checklists
  • Provide additional support for new projects as needed
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time
Position Requirements

Education and Experience

This position requires post‑secondary education in Human Resources or a related discipline, with at least one year of related coordination experience in a professional services environment, preferably a law firm. Completion of CHRP/CHRL designation is considered an asset. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience is acceptable.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent collaboration skills, including communication and interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a team setting
  • Significantly developed organizational skills, attention to detail, time management, and ability to balance multiple demands and priorities
  • Client service oriented with a friendly, professional demeanor
  • Proficiency in the full Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, viDesktop, UKG, and AI tools
Compensation:

The range of expected compensation for this position is $55,000-$65,000 annually. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of factors including job‑related knowledge, education, skills and experience.

We are currently working in a hybrid work arrangement, which includes a requirement to work primarily in the office and flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week.
