Job description

Position Overview

The Coordinator, Professional Practice and Health Discipline academics is responsible for coordinating various functions to support the department leadership team and the program. Reporting to the Director of Professional Practice and the Manager of Academic Affairs, the Coordinator manages administrative processes related to daily departmental operations. Responsibilities include organizing departmental meetings and events, coordinating special projects, supporting HR processes such as recruitment, attendance management, payroll, ordering supplies/equipment, and updating departmental intranet and internet sites. Hospital-wide duties include site leadership for the simulation lab, managing academic placements for IPP students, and providing coverage for administrative colleagues as needed.

Education
  • Post-Secondary education in Office Administration or equivalent required
  • Undergraduate degree preferred
Experience
  • At least 5 years of recent relevant administrative experience with project management and leadership skills
  • Experience in a healthcare environment required; hospital-based experience is an asset
  • Proficiency in platforms such as Wufoo and Air Table
  • Experience managing internal and external websites and virtual databases
  • Ability to develop electronic data presentations
  • Flexible working hours to meet departmental needs
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external partners, and work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including preparing agendas, minutes, correspondence, and organizing systems
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities independently
  • Accountability, problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Embodies TEHN core values
  • Good attendance and work record required
