MILL OPERATIONS COORDINATOR

The Coordinator supports mill regulatory governance and compliance, ensuring safe, productive, responsible, and efficient operations, including lock out/tag out governance, confined space, hot work permits, data integrity, and more.

Key Responsibilities

Area 1: Regulatory Compliance

• Develop and maintain lock out/tag out, confined space, and hot work permit procedures tailored to the mill.
• Stay updated on provincial and federal regulations.
• Interpret regulations and implement protocols.
• Conduct audits and inspections.
• Collaborate with teams to integrate protocols.
• Maintain documentation and records for inspections and audits.
• Generate performance reports.
• Manage LOTO sheets, permits, and equipment inventory.
• Maintain logs of permits and calibrate gas detectors.

Area 2: Operational Excellence

• Support health and safety initiatives.
• Implement operational improvements.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Area 3: Team Collaboration

• Coordinate with team members for operational deliverables.
• Mentor and train new team members.
• Communicate effectively and report deficiencies.
• Participate in safety huddles and planning meetings.

Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves

• College diploma or university degree in a related field.
• Red Seal Electrician and Ministry Supervisor Training are assets.

Work experience includes a minimum of 8 years in related roles, with desirable experience in mechanical work, contractor management, maintenance systems, and gold milling environment. Strong decision-making, communication, and computer skills are essential.
