MILL OPERATIONS COORDINATOR

The coordinator supports mill regulatory governance and compliance to ensure safe, productive, responsible, and efficient operations, including lockout/tagout governance, confined space, hot work permits, and data integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Area 1: Regulatory Compliance

• Develop and maintain lockout/tagout, confined space, and hot work permit procedures tailored to the mill.
• Stay updated on provincial and federal regulations.
• Translate regulations into operational protocols.
• Conduct audits and inspections for compliance.
• Collaborate across teams to integrate protocols.
• Maintain accurate documentation for inspections and audits.
• Generate performance reports and track improvements.
• Maintain and update permit documentation and permits.
• Manage LOTO equipment inventory.
• Keep logs of permits and calibrate gas detectors.
• Assist with confined space determinations and maintain related records.

Area 2: Operational Excellence

• Support health and safety initiatives.
• Implement operational improvements.
• Engage in continuous learning and improvement.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide feedback on lockout and shutdown planning efficiency.

Area 3: Team Collaboration

• Coordinate with team members to meet operational goals.
• Mentor and train new team members on permitting and LOTO.
• Communicate effectively and ensure issues are addressed.
• Participate in safety meetings and maintenance planning.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements and Nice to Haves

• College diploma or university degree in a related field.
• Red Seal Electrician certification is an asset.
• Ministry Supervisor Training is an asset.

Work experience - Nature & Length

• At least 8 years of related experience.
• 5+ years of technical/mechanical experience preferred.
• Experience managing contractors in a mill is desirable.
• Digital literacy and maintenance system experience (Oracle) are advantageous.
• Knowledge of gold milling is highly desirable.
• Ability to make effective decisions under pressure.
• Strong communication and team engagement skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Conformit LOTO system.
• Self-motivated with a solutions-oriented approach.
