Job summary

RPMGlobal seeks a Coordinator, Construction Services to manage medium-complexity contracts during construction, ensuring compliance with requirements and quality specs. You will negotiate issues with contractors and consultants, monitor milestones, and report on performance within delegated authority.

You will engage with site teams, other service lines, and Client-Partners, applying risk management techniques and maintaining record-keeping for quality assurance and health and safety compliance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: college diploma in engineering, applied science or related field with four years’ relevant experience.
  • Preferred: certification in applicable field (e.g. Certified Engineering Technologist).
  • Experience in contract management and construction projects is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer contracts to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and quality specifications.
  • Coordinate and solve day-to-day contractual problems.
  • Monitor and control schedules.
  • Liaise with Client-Partner representatives and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships within DCC and with industry, Client Partners and/or stakeholders.
  • Ensure quality standards and manage contract risks.

Job description

This position will primarily support the Project and Program Management team through the administration of professional services contracts for studies, investigations, design, and consulting services. The incumbent will manage multiple contracts and competing priorities, monitor submissions and coordinate the review of consultant deliverables, track and monitor milestone deliverables, and carry out quality assurance and contract performance reviews. The position will also manage consultant performance, payment certification activities, and contract status reporting, while supporting the successful delivery of professional services contracts.

The Coordinator, Construction Services, manages and administers medium-complexity construction, professional services and service contracts during construction to ensure compliance with contract requirements. The incumbent engages in daily discussions and negotiations with contractors, consultants and the Client-Partners about quality of work, interpretation of contract documents, scope changes, progress claim reviews and other issues. The incumbent addresses contract management risks within delegated authority, complies with service line requirements, and integrates activities with site teams and other service lines.

KEY AND PERIODIC ACTIVITIES

Primary
  • Manage and administer contracts to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and quality specifications

  • Liaise with Client-Partner representatives (e.g. on contract-related problems and risks, negotiate and issue change orders)
  • Maintain site activity records (e.g. photos, activity reports)
  • Liaise with other service lines and site teams, as required
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships within DCC, and with industry, the Client Partners and/or stakeholders
  • Ensure quality standards are met, in line with corporate and Client-Partner expectations
  • Manage contract risks
