Job summary

Paladin Security Group Ltd is seeking an OH&S Claims Management and Recovery-at-Work Administrator to oversee health and safety claims across Canadian provinces. You will coordinate with regional branches, stay current on regulations, and drive recovery-at-work programs to minimize time lost from incidents.

This national role requires strong OH&S knowledge, excellent communication, and the ability to analyze trends and report on compliance and performance to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Requires a High School Diploma; an OH&S certificate/diploma is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of OH&S legislation and best practices is essential.
  • Ability to interpret regulatory requirements for stakeholders is required.
  • Proficiency with Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SharePoint is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with provincial board officials to manage workers' compensation claims daily.
  • Communicate with injured workers to facilitate recovery-at-work programs.
  • Coordinate with regional branches to obtain current availability of modified duties.
  • Develop strategies to prevent and control workers' compensation claims and costs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and provincial OH&S statutes and regulations.
  • Provide input on trends and policy changes to management and liaisons.
  • Monitor, audit, and report on compensation claims and outcomes.
  • Prepare reports on workers' compensation issues for stakeholders.
  • Oversee the claims management and recovery-at-work program as needed.
  • Submit documentation to regulatory bodies in compliance with standards.
  • Track claim statuses and ensure timely resolution and compliance.
  • Assist in designing modified work offers to support return-to-work.
  • Maintain confidential case files with privacy in mind.
  • Document near-miss incidents for statistics and analysis.
  • Ensure accurate OH&S incident tracking and reporting.
  • Distribute monthly compliance and performance reports.

Job description

As a key member of the National Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) team, the OH&S Claims Management and Recovery-at-Work Administrator plays a critical role in reducing time lost due to work-related incidents while promoting a safe and healthy workplace.

This position is responsible for managing employee health and safety claims across Canadian provinces, coordinating effectively with local branch representatives throughout the claims management and recovery-at-work process, and ensuring accurate recording and reporting of health and safety statistics and trends.

Job Requirements

  • Liaise with provincial board officials to manage workers' compensation claims on a day-to-day basis.
  • Communicate directly with injured workers to facilitate recovery-at-work programs, including stay-at-work and modified duty arrangements.
  • Coordinate with regional branches to obtain current availability of modified duty positions.
  • Collaborate with officials to develop strategies that prevent, reduce, and control workers' compensation claims and associated administrative costs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and provincial workers' compensation statutes, regulations, and jurisprudence impacting claims management.
  • Provide guidance and input to management and provincial board liaisons on emerging trends, critical developments, and policy or procedural changes, including required reporting.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and audit compensation claims to ensure legitimacy, identify potential challenges, analyze trends, and implement cost-control measures.
  • Research and prepare reports on all aspects of workers' compensation issues.
  • Take ownership of the claims management and recovery-at-work program as required.
  • Submit required documentation to legislative bodies in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Monitor and review claim statuses to ensure accuracy and timely resolution.
  • Oversee claim reviews and appeals to verify compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in designing and implementing modified work offers to support return-to-work programs.
  • Create, organize, and maintain confidential case files in accordance with privacy requirements.
  • Track and document near-miss incidents for record keeping and statistical analysis.
  • Ensuring accurate OH&S incident tracking.
  • Generate and distribute monthly reports for compliance and performance monitoring to stakeholders.
  • Maintain job competency through continuous learning and participation in seminars and professional development activities.
