Your Opportunity:

The Academic Medicine Health Services Program (AMHSP) supports various programs and initiatives for Alberta Health Services (AHS), offering alternatives to traditional physician compensation models and supporting innovative healthcare delivery. The Senior Financial Analyst provides specialized financial support to the Departments of Clinical Neurosciences, Psychiatry, Surgery, Anesthesia, Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Calgary Zone. This role involves managing financial aspects within each department, including budgeting, variance analysis, forecasting, and contract management. The analyst develops comprehensive data requirements, maintains stakeholder relationships, and ensures data flow and performance metrics are in place.

Description:

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will prepare complex financial reports, interpret analyses, and support departmental budgets, forecasting, and process improvements. You will oversee financial projects, guide junior staff, and support management with financial insights. The role requires coordination across health environments to meet business and external reporting needs.

• Location: Foothills Medical Centre, with hybrid work eligibility within Alberta
• Position Type: Regular Full Time, Exempt

• Salary Range: $30.90 - $53.08 per hour

Required Qualifications:

• A post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, or related discipline
• At least three years of experience in accounting, financial planning, or advisory roles
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and in teams, with strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite

Additional Qualifications:

• Enrolled in or completed a professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA) or a master's degree (MBA) preferred
• Experience in healthcare finance preferred
