Job summary

Qualifications

  • Leadership roles in student groups or activities.

Responsibilities

  • Update equipment and facility drawings.
  • Collaborate with vendors/consultants and assist contractors.
  • Assist engineers on capex improvement projects.
  • Manage smaller non-capex projects.
  • Plan maintenance jobs and order parts.
  • Design projects.

Internship Program

An internship with Gerdau offers high learning agility and the opportunity to work with either our Engineering Team or the Maintenance & Reliability Team. The program provides on‑the‑job training, organization orientation, work assignments and projects with clear goals.

Responsibilities
  • Update equipment/facility drawings
  • Work with outside vendors and consultants, assist in managing contractors
  • Assist engineers on capex improvement projects
  • Manage smaller non‑capex projects
  • Plan maintenance jobs and order parts
  • Design projects
Requirements
  • Completed at least two years of a degree program in a mechanical discipline
  • Record of high academic achievement (minimum GPA 2.5; preferred GPA 3.0 or higher)
  • Experience with SolidWorks design software; AutoCAD would be a benefit
  • Well‑rounded applicants with leadership roles in student organizations or extra‑curricular activities
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada without requiring current or future sponsorship for employment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational qualities
  • Ability to work independently and be a fast learner
