Job Description

The Guild is open for all-day dining, drinks, and private events. Spanning two floors and featuring one of Calgary’s largest patios, The Guild is a nod to the guildhalls of the past, which served as meeting places for artists and merchants.

The Day to Day:

  • You are keen to acquire new skills and take direction, feedback, coaching from your Sous Chef, Chef, and/or General Manager
  • You’re enthusiastic about the service ahead and proactively prepare and organize your station according to O&B standards
  • You value the recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant
  • You easily maintain a prep list of station duties
  • You understand the importance of the FIFO method to maximize freshness
  • You’re a team player and step in to assist with receiving and storing delivered items
  • You’re like us, fanatical about cleanliness of food prep areas, equipment, utensils, and strictly adhere to sanitation, food safety, and hygiene guidelines
  • Strictly adhere to WHMIS and MSDS guidelines
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant
  • Culinary diploma/degree is an asset
  • Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills
  • Ability to take direction and work calmly and effectively under pressure
  • Able to spend 100% of the time standing
  • Serve Safe certified
