Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a Cook to support meal service across the facility by preparing and delivering safe, nutritious meals to patients, staff and visitors, in line with department policies. The role requires a Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain within six months), with a preferred Accredited Culinary Program and about one year of healthcare/food service experience.

Teamwork, flexibility and good communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Accredited Food Handler Training Program required; or be willing to attend Food Handler Training Program in the first six (6) months of employment.
• Completion of an Accredited Culinary Program preferred.
• Minimum 1-year experience in the Healthcare/Food services industry preferred.
• Other combinations of education & experience may be considered

Reporting to the Support Service Manager, the Cook is responsible for the daily preparation, cooking and delivery of safe, nutritious meals to the patients, staff and visitors of the facility in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

• Certificate in an Accredited Food Handler Training Program required; or be willing to attend Food Handler Training Program in the first six (6) months of employment.
• Completion of an Accredited Culinary Program preferred.
• Minimum 1-year experience in the Healthcare/Food services industry preferred.
• Other combinations of education & experience may be considered

• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
