Job summary

Spirit Ridge Resort in Osoyoos, BC is seeking a motivated Cook to join our high‑energy culinary team. You will prepare high quality food to order, keep a clean workstation and support the kitchen with professional, positive conduct.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years line cooking, some knowledge of fine dining, and a Cooking certificate or diploma is an asset. Creativity and a desire to learn are highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of line cooking experience with knowledge of fine dining an asset.
  • Certificate or Diploma in Cooking is an asset.
  • Creativity and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of Outlet, Banquet and any other food requirements.
  • Requisitioning of food, beverage and dry goods from the storeroom.
  • Ensure that refrigerators, freezers, working areas and kitchen are clean.
  • Ensure that equipment is functioning, sanitized and that any maintenance is reported.
  • Control waste and portions and help manage food quality and cost using standard recipes and photos.
  • Assist with general cleaning to maintain a sanitary workplace.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Our Cooksand Pastry Cooks are the heart and soul of the hotel's culinary team.by creating amazing dishes that encourages guests to return frequently to have their favorite dish again and again.

Our Cooks are on board to support the resort's culinary team. The primary duty of our Cooks is to prepare high quality food to order for guests based on established guidelines, keep work area clean and organized and conduct his or her self in a positive professional manner (with a great sense of humor and you will fit right in)..

Duties include:
  • Preparation of Outlet, Banquet and any other food requirements.
  • Requisitioning of food, beverage and dry goods from the storeroom.
  • Ensure that refrigerators, freezers, working areas and kitchen are clean.
  • Ensure that equipment is functioning, sanitized and that any maintenance is reported
  • Ensure strict control of waste and portion and help to control food quality and cost using standard recipe methods, pictures and maintain low inventory.
  • On a need bases: sweep, mop, wash down tables and general cleaning to ensure a clean and sanitary work place.
  • Other duties as required
You will bring:
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in line cooking and some knowledge of fine dining is an asset
  • Certificate or Diploma in Cooking would be an asset
  • Creativity and a craving to learn
