About the Job

As a team player, you will perform various duties within the Food Service Department, including:

  1. Preparing assigned food items by following established menus, recipes, and quantity quotas
  2. Planning preparation and cooking schedules
  3. Cooking and seasoning assigned food and therapeutic diet items such as soups, sauces, salads, starches, meats, vegetables, and desserts
  4. Controlling portioning of food items to meet recipe yield and quantity quotas
  5. Maintaining food rotations in storage to minimize spoilage and waste
  6. Cleaning cooking areas and equipment
  7. Assigning tasks to food service workers and providing training and orientation
  8. Checking returned diet trays for unconsumed items and making substitutions according to therapeutic diets
  9. Portioning out and serving food and beverages in dining areas
  10. Performing other related duties

This is a casual opportunity. Casual employees are not guaranteed hours and may work from 0 to 37.5 hours per week on an as-needed basis.

Shifts will be scheduled days rotating from 06:00 to 17:10 hours.

Qualifications
Education, Training, and Experience
  • Graduation from a recognized 12-month program in quantity cooking or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
