Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a part-time Food Services teammate for the Tuxedo Villa Home in Winnipeg, Manitoba. You’ll help prepare meals, follow standardized recipes, manage textures and ensure meals are served safely and on time.

The role values leadership, safe food handling, and the ability to read and follow instructions in English. Cook’s certificate or experience in large-scale institutional cooking is preferred, with opportunities for mentorship and career growth.

This position is for our Extendicare Tuxedo Villa Home, located in Winnipeg, Manitoba

What you’ll be doing:

Reviews regular and therapeutic menus and sets up equipment and supplies for food preparation.

Prepares food and nourishments following standardized recipes and production sheets.

Provides for prescribed diets, including variations in texture.

Ensures meals are served on time, at appropriate temperatures and in portion-controlled quantities.

Monitor's quality and quantity of food supplies ordered, proper operation of kitchen equipment and alerts the Food Services Supervisor of problems.

What you bring:

Cook's certificate or experience in institutional large quantity cooking preferred

Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures

Ability to read and write English, and understand verbal and written instructions in English

Proven ability to provide direction and lead others within a busy environment

Current Food Handler`s Certificate preferred
